Adequate but Ugly Dec 10, 2009
By P. Fulghum This product adequately performs its function in both USB and eSATA modes. In both modes, the device is automatically recognized by Windows and performs as expected in both speed and reliability. At $29, the price is OK, but not great. The case is cheap, black plastic with a cheap, gray rubber condom that slides over the case. The stand only works when the condom is installed. There are many screws that must be removed and replaced to install the drive, more so than competing cases. The power LED is on the side back corner and is obscured by the case and condom, so why have one at all? The one good feature is a power switch so you don't have to unplug the external AC adapter to turn it off. A product that performs its basic function adequately should not be sneered at, but considering how cheap the construction is and how ugly the case is, this should be a $19 case. The included cables are way too short to be usable (about 18 inches), so you must supply your own in most cases. I don't understand why they include the too short cables at all, as I would prefer they either include usable cables or leave them out all together and make the case cheaper. As it is, the included cables are basically landfill.
Its good, but not good Oct 04, 2010
By R. Gudla Good looking. Does the job. But, not portable though, as the hard drive comes out of the grew where u do something jerky. You have to open that again, to fix the hard drive. E-SATA never worked for me, that is the main reason I bought this. If you are getting this on a deal, go for it.
Update: Not very portable. Hard drive comes out of its slot when I move this within my house, I had to open every time this happens. E-SATA never worked, which didn't serve the only purpose I bought this. Silicone cover outside the case is dust clinging, is fading making the drive look ugly. Overall disappointed.
