Weight capacity is 300 pounds Dec 05, 2011 By Random Reviewer
The info about this stool's weight capacity was not given on this page. (This is pretty important information as regards SEATING!) I found this exact stool on another website... where the capacity WAS listed as 300 pounds. We wanted at least a 250-lb. capacity in our kitchen, and I bought one sturdy-looking stool earlier but had to return it as its included spec sheet revealed it was good only up to 225.

Anyway, when this stool arrived, I called National Public Seating Corp., where it comes from. They verified that their 6200-series stools have a capacity of 300 pounds. Hopefully this information will help someone until Amazon starts asking for and including this information on product pages.

The only drawback is that the masonite top surface isn't protected and picks up stains immediately -- as in grease stains. We just need to find a barstool cushion for it now to cover that. It's a great, plain work stool, the perfect height for both of us to sit at the counter for extended periods of chopping, mixing, etc. The long-legged can brace a foot on the floor; shorter legs can perch feet on the foot-rest ring. It appears to be sturdily made and welded strongly. Glad I found it.
