5Awesome Product - SILENT - GREAT Cooling  Apr 19, 2011 By rLogix
I've got two machines using a i7-2600k on a Sabertooth p67 motherboard - this fan works perfectly. The down-facing fan design is ideal for motherboard cooling, the fans can be easily removed or re-arranged. The unit is ULTRA quiet and is cooling our overclocked chips down to 27C when idle / 50C when full load at 3.5mhz / 70C when full load at 4.6mhz (ambient room of ~24c)

Noctua Thermal Grease is one of the best on the market and this unit comes with a big syringe full of it - enough to remount this thing a dozen times at least.

** Make sure to install the optional fan brace / bracket that comes with the unit. Install the bracket BEFORE mounting onto the CPU. There was a slight vibration on both machines after installing using the dual fan configuration pointing downward, but once we installed the extra brace the vibration went away.

Super Quiet, No Vibrations, Incredible Packaging, Build Quality, Great Instructions, Great Cooling.

5fantastic blowing fan for hot Hawaii temperatures  Jan 15, 2012 By CWD "wolfieRus"
CPU cooler is awesome. Installed on my Asus P868 so I could get cooler temps on my mobo and cpu. Idle temps are 19c to 23c. While playing Battlefield3 temps are 36c to 46c. I used a very thin coat of Artic Silver which I applied with my finger wrapped in saran wrap. It fits nicely on my mobo and in my Cooler Master Storm case. Using Vengeance mem with fins. Had to remove one stick of mem closest to the cooler. Its worth removing the mem stick to keep CPU and mobo cool. The highest temp mobo gets during gaming is 28c - 29c. Idle 21c-22c depends on day and time in my Hawaii home. I would suggest using this cooler if you live in hot humid areas and don't want to use liquid coolers.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus (duel fans)

5Great Product so relax!  Aug 29, 2011 By Oldseabass
Primary concern was clearance of tall heat sinks on memory. This cooling machine allows for a few options such as increase height or take off bottom fan. I have the Corsair Vengeance with high combs. Well, did not have to raise nor take off bottom fan and that was dandy. Used this product as it covers a wide area on the memory, mother board, and of course the CPU. Presently using a AMD Phenom six core 1100T. Temps on the CPU stable at 28C. Now that's cool. Very easy to install with clear directions and lots of parts in separate clearly marked little bags. Product is well built and has heft. It is large. I am using it in my full sized HAF 932 advanced case which by the way has 3 240mm fans. In case you might wonder, I used custom made screens for the HAF fans which you can order on line by Google search for what you want. Just a side barre. I strongly recommend and endorse this product. I am a computer tech with 13 years experience and do custom builds. Wise to use this Noctura in large mid sized cases and large full cases. It is a cooling monster. I say get it. Has not broke down and is super silent and powerful. A screamer.

5This is the limit for CPU Cooling  Jul 29, 2011 By T.H. Lee
I recently built a new gaming rig with a sabertooth p67 motherboard and i5 2500K processor. As you know, the i5 is core clocked at 3.3ghz out of the box. I overclocked to a stable 4.7ghz and I have idle temps of roughly 32C and overclocked temps at around +- 65C using RealTemp and Prime 95 (tortured for a good hour or so). This is amazing considering the heat that comes around in SoCal during the summer. I also have to applaud Noctua for a fan sound level that is virtually non existent. I have fan controllers attached to all my operating fans inside and outside the case, and just for fun I turned off all my other fans and only left my Noctua on to hear it solo. Realistically, you cannot expect to hear nothing at all. It is a fan, after all, but considering it's size and its purpose as a CPU cooler, this cooler is the end. There can't possibly be another cooler out there that can do a better job of being a CPU cooler than this! Besides water cooling, I think Noctua set the cap for fan coolers.
The components that followed this cooler are even more outstanding. I did not buy this item from Amazon, but if I had to pay again, I would pay the same amount for just the Cooler and nothing else. The rest (thermal paste, support bar, screw driver, extra adapters, etc.) i considered as a bonus. It even comes with a square metal Noctua logo, with the sticky on the back. The product definitely pays for itself and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality cooler for the right price.

Also, for those who own the sabertooth p67 motherboard, I have installed Kingston HyperX 8GB RAM (2 X 4GB) and this noctua clears it by a good inch or so.

Side note: I own an NZXT Phantom case white, and to those of you who might think twice because of Noctua's trademark Brown color on a white case, it does a good job of remaining neutral and not standing out. It isn't beautiful or anything but it makes the inside of your case look like coffee and white chocolate or something which isn't bad at all.

4HUGE!  Dec 03, 2011 By Luciano CCS
this cooler is huge! and when you think in something huge this one will be bigger than your imagination! I installed in a fully tower case plenty of space now it looks the case is full! I have a asus p67mother board, with this cooler and heat sinked memory boards I had to sacrifice 2 of 4 memory slots because the size. Any way I may no be using them.

I found it silent, and the performance is amazing, comparing the temperature I am getting with the original 48°C idle (am in the tropic) after installing this huge cooler, amd getting 33°C thats a lot better than expected performance.

Before buying this cooler, check is compatible with your motherboard, if memory slot are too close to the cpu it will not work.

Installation is not easy since you need to remove the motherboard to install the support and the 2 holding screw isnt the easiest thing I has done as technician.

When I say huge is huge! like 10 times the mass of the original corei7 cooler.
