If you are a visual learner, this is the book for you! I had a lot of problems getting into the whole critical thinking aspect when I first starting nursing school after being out of school for 12 years. I can remember so much more because of this book.

If you have ADHD, and are a visual and auditory learn like me THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. This book gives has pictures (wish they were colored in) that correspond to the disease and they have pnuemonics to go along with them. "Cold and clammy, give'em some candy" for hypoglycemic and then they show them shivering. I used the book after my 2nd test and when I tried to picture the disease I closed my eyes and saw a guy shivering with sweaty palms and BAM remembered the saying. Now thats just for 1 of the 100 disease processes they made pictures for but it helps. I would get this and volume 2, and the Mosby Pharmacology flip book as well as the Mosby Pathophysiology flip-book all of which have these pictures and quirky sayings on them to help you remember what is what.

Unfortunately I bought this product but haven't gotten a whole lot of use out of it. It supplements other learning well & is best probably for the visual learner. The pictures are like a coloring book, so have fun coloring them in. And the material is in a "Mind-Map" format, so it's best as a review if you've already read plenty about the material and just need a highlight of the basics. My best advice for this product would be to know your learning style before you start studying from it.
Good luck in school/testing though:-)

I really like the illustrations & mnemonics in this book. It definitely helped me memorize certain disorder/conditions as I am more of a visual learner. I would recommend this to nursing students.

As a visual learner I found that this book helped me out a lot in studying for my nursing exams. Gives you useful information that you can remember during your exams and everday practice.
