Great replacement CPU on Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop Jun 13, 2009
By Shaun Walter
"pro tinker"
I did some research and found that my Dell Inspiron E1505 could be upgraded to this processor. ( Intel Cpu Pentium Mobile T7200 2.0Ghz Fsb667Mhz 4Mb Fcpga6 Core 2 Duo Tray )
I went from a 32bit Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83Ghz CPU to this 64bit Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0Ghz CPU. Worked great and I do see a difference when running VMWare virtual machines and also when opening the nearly dozen web sites that I can sometimes have open.
This CPU worked out VERY well for me as an upgrade processor and no issues during the upgrade procedure. Be sure you have ALL of the instructions for each part of the upgrade and be sure you have new thermal paste ready.
The price was also great. I found this for about $145 and couldn't be happier.
I also upgraded to 4GB of ram even though the Dell site officially says only 2GB max ram. Be sure to upgrade your BIOS to at least A17 also. No problems and I have about 3.25GB of usable memory running on 64bit OS. No problems and no major issues in upgrading. The memory was even cheaper at about $48.00.
( Corsair Memory VS4GSDSKIT667D2 4 GB PC2-5300 667MHz 200-Pin DDR2 SODIMM Laptop Memory Kit )
Very happy camper.

Excellent Entry Level Processor Mar 18, 2008
By W. Young This came installed in my Dell Latitude D620 laptop pc, and I'll say, I was blown away. The speed of this processor is perfect for video editing, multi-tasking, and running the common programs that typical users tend to use.
With 4 MB of cache, that's a perfect starting point, especially for an entry-level processor. You mostly see larger caches for Xeon processors, so to see this much cache is a step in the right direction for Intel.
So if you're looking for an excellent cpu with a large cache, dual core funtionality, and lower power consumption, then this processor is the way to go.

best mobile upgrade Sep 14, 2009
By Troy Scheh Hard to come by these days, but the T7200 is the best mobile upgrade for any Core Duo or Core 2 Duo notebook that doesn't has a solder in chip.
