Better options for your buck. Jan 17, 2012
By S. Talbot
"Corporate Drone / Gamer"
I purchased two of these for my wife and I and if it weren't a pain to return, I would send them back. There are just better options at a similar price-point. You got me this time HP, but never again.
Pros: Swift Core i7 2600 8 Gigs 1333 Ram
"Meh:" 1 TB hard drive Case design Quiet operation
Cons: Too few USB ports - buy yourself a usb hub if you have several devices. Pretty silly for a 2011 machine to not be PACKED with USB ports. (Most are - this one (surprisingly) isn't.) Underwhelming sound options. (5.1 surround out-of-the-box would be nice, but you have to go find drivers in order to get it working)
"WTF where they thinking?": GeForce GT 530 - This card should NEVER be paired with such a fast CPU - creates a huge performance bottleneck. Very underpowered card. >286W Power Supply - I've not seen a power supply this small since 2002 (seriously). If you are thinking "Meh, I'll just upgrade my video card, also plan on upgrading your powersupply, because it won't support most video card upgrades due to a lack of a video card powerport + not enough power to run it anyway.
Note to HP: Seriously HP, this is a real stinker - even at the price. I feel this machine was put together by a clueless accountant trying to squeeze pennies out of people who don't know any better.
Note to prospective buyers: Just keep walking folks, nothing to see here, don't buy this PC.

A very good computer for a casual PC gamer Dec 14, 2011
By Zrorro So I picked up this computer to replace my old computer from 2005. This computer is very good for someone who wants to casually play almost all the PC games at near high settings. I mainly play console games but I wanted a computer that could play most PC games at high settings without having to spend a extra amount for a powerful graphic card and new power supply. Just buy default I can play most games like the original Crysis and WoW at high settings. When it comes to brand new games I usually get them on consoles but it is nice now to have a PC that can play all the games that video game consoles can play now. I was really impressed by this computer and price. The one important point is the Processor is a 3.4 Ghz which is good because you could always just change the Power supply and Graphic card to improve those if you want. However processor is the only thing you ever get stuck with, which is why I finally had to upgrade to this computer from my old one. The only down side to this computer is that there are only 2 Ram Slots inside occupied by (2) 4 GB sticks. Which means the only way to up grade is to buy sticks bigger than 4 GB. However so far 8GB of ram seem to be plenty for everything I want to do. I do recommend anyone who buys this computer to pick up 3 DVD-R disc to make recovery disc as you should with any computer. This way you don't have to buy them in case of any problems. So far though I've been using the PC for about 3 weeks with no problems at all. The Graphic card outputs in HDMI (HDMI does support sound) and DVI (which comes with a adapter for VGA). Its a great PC for the price and I recommend it for everyone to pick up.

Computer is great... But Amazon web site Beware!!!! Nov 17, 2011
By Macleoud The computer is great works like a champ... BUT YOU DO NOT get the Web Cam or Mouse or Speakers set, even tho the check mark is in the include box. Called them up and they said NO DEAL it "might" look a "little misleading" (I wonder if its like being a "little pregnant") but that the way it is.... TOO BAD. AS for the computer it works so good. Set right up out of the box, I give 2 thumbs up for HP on this one......and with the lower price of $818. it is a good deal.

HPE h8-1120 Decktop computer Nov 27, 2011
By Michael R. Noel
"Mike"
I have ordered the 'older' version of this computer, the h8-1050. I'm puzzled why Amazon would list the h8-1120 as a newer version of the h8-1050 since they differ in so many details. On the plus side for the 1120 is the 7200 rpm drive v 5400 rpm for the 1050. On the plus side for the 1050 is 2 extra GB of system memory (or 1 if you count the extra memory for the 1120's graphics card), a 50% bigger hard drive, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a video card with much higher benchmarks and support for up to 3 monitors, a Blu-ray player, a TV tuner, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a remote control.
The 1120 is probably a fine machine, just not equivalent to the more expensive 1050.

Happy Dec 28, 2011
By Matt The machine arrived on time, in new condition. Would buy from seller again. Fastest machine I've ever used. It was a great price, but of course I'll see it cheaper somewhere soon. The machine is everything I expected. I'm not using the hdmi out, but will do so in the future. The additional ports on top and card reader in the front are helpful. I've been generally satisfied with HP products (computers and printers)and this one does not disappoint.
