| | Description | Consider the possibility that the history of the human race is not as simple as what has been taught in classroom textbooks. Consider the possibility that the evolutionary scientific explanation for mankind has ignored critical facts that are buried deep within the fossils and mankind's DNA. Consider the possibility that the religious stories that have often been the core basis for mankind's understanding of where it belongs in the history of creation may actually reveal a planet occupied with tyrannical giants and an elite highly intelligent race bent on genetic mutation. As horrifying as such possibilities are, Genes, Giants, Monsters, and Men sets forth a plausible theory revealing a hidden history of mankind and a possible reason that it has remained veiled for hundreds of thousands of years. With his well-documented style and breathtaking conclusions, Dr. Joseph P. Farrell pulls back the veil and takes the reader on an odyssey behind the mysterious history and myths of the human race. Joseph P. Farrell is a recognized scholar whose credentials include a PhD in philosophy from the University of Oxford. His literary contribution is a veritable resumé unto itself covering such fields as Nazi Germany, sacred literature, physics, finances, the Giza pyramids, and music theory. A renowned researcher with an eye to assimilate a tremendous amount of background material, Farrell is able to condense the best scholastic research in publication and draw insightful new conclusions on complex and controversial subjects.

great book in the Cosmic War series Apr 24, 2011
By Jon Norris This latest release from Farrell continues his Cosmic War line of investigations into the history of the Earth and humankind. The text is 239 pages and a Bibliography. The primary theme of the book is to start with the assumption of the Cosmic War, and follow the leads available to discern the agenda (or agendas) of the surviving "elites" of that war, and lay the groundwork for further detailed examination of this topic and the ramifications it holds for us today.
As usual, Farrell executes his task brilliantly. There are very, very few thinkers or authors who can comb through evidence and data, view each piece with balance, and carefully craft a solid, defensible argument of the caliber that Farrell does on a regular basis. I apologize for sounding like some simple fanboy, but I am appreciative of, and impressed by, the quality of Farrell's thought process - something extremely rare in this day of Public Relations, the evening news, and mass media designed to entertain 6 year olds (and not very bright 6 year olds at that...)
The book covers such diverse areas as ancient texts, ancient stories and legends from different parts of the world, genetics - old and new, archeological anomalies, modern electronic and related mind control, electromagnetic weapons, the discovery of "the Megalithic yard," and so on.
Farrell sorts, sifts, and synthesizes the evidence of a surviving elite to piece together a solid argument, not only for their existence, but for their possible agenda(s) for the twists and turns our history has taken. Along the way, he frequently touches on and incorporates evidence I, too, have encountered in my studies, and weaves that data into a neat and tidy framework.
I was particularly glad to see his assessment of the work of Thom, Knight, and Butler on the Megalithic Yard, a perplexing piece of historical measurement which ties together not only ancient lands widely separated, but also links our modern measures, both metric and English, to each other as well as constants on the planet and in the solar system. His condensation of the work of Knight and Butler on Thom's original discovery alone is worth the read. ( I also recommend their book, "Civilization One.") That one set of data turns our "standard model" of history completely inside out.
I was also intrigued by his delving into genetics and the study of mitochondrial DNA and how that has drastically changed our knowledge about the migrations of peoples in history. Again, Farrell does an excellent job of distilling the information down to essential details and analyzing the implications.
One other thing he mentions which should give us all pause is the recent legal situation where genetically engineered species have become Intellectual Property - i.e. the "property" of the creator of such species. If it turns out that humans are indeed genetically engineered, and that is extremely likely, that means we may be in for a huge court battle if our "owners" ever decide to press their claim. Food for serious thought (and definitely no joking matter, slave), especially in light of the current behavior of the "visible" elites of today's world.
Very readable, thought provoking, and highly recommended, as are all Farrell's books.

The Roots of Malevolence Apr 25, 2011
By Timothy Wyllie Once again Dr. Farrell has dug deep into the roots of the injustices and malevolence we encounter on this world. His research, as always, appears impeccable and it's impossible after reading this and his other books, especially his previous one, Feral House's revealing Balylon's Banksters, not to have a clear understanding (if not a Fair and Balanced one) of the depths of corruption underlying so much of modern life and the degree to which it has become embedded in our social systems and the way we think of ourselves as human beings. The author lays his bets on human elites, descended through carefully preserved bloodlines from Nephilim cross-breeding with humans and their continuing influence on the affairs of humanity for their own selfish reasons. While there is little doubt this is so--the Bush years made this staringly obvious to all who didn't snooze through it--perhaps it's unfair to hope that Dr. Farrell, with his immense breadth of knowledge and fine intelligence, to cut still deeper to an even more fundamental layer as to who or what lies behind these human elites.
Are we as isolated on this planet, for instance, as we've been led to believe by these elites? Factoring the "Inner Worlds" of the angels into the knowledge base, how do the equations change? Could the War in Heaven, which occurs with such unpleasant regularity in just too many of the old stories to be ignored, be anything other than the revolution among the angels, thes so-called Lucifer Rebellion, said to have occurred (The Urantia Book) around 203,000 years ago? And if this was indeed found to be true how would the inclusion of this event as an actual reality which has had its continuing impact on this world, allow us a more profound insight into the basic causes of the state of this world?
Perhaps with a somewhat expanded view of Multiverse politics, someone of Dr. Farrell's lucid intelligence and meticulous research should be able to unravel the next layer of a drama more far-reaching, complicated and ultimately more transcendently meaningful than we can currently appreciate.
Regardless, Genes, Giants, Monsters and Men is a terrific book, a masterful drawing together of myth, legend, and cutting-edge contemporary scientific thought. Feral House are to be congratulated and thanked for giving this courageous thinker such an elegant platform. It also forms an excellent jumping-off point for those who want to explore even deeper into what is "really going on" behind the scrim of reality. And for that we only have our intuitions and the self-awareness to recognize the truth when we unearth it. The good doctor has done much of the heavy lifting. With Gratitude. Onwards and inwards.

Compelling ideas May 12, 2011
By Tartarus First of all, let me say that I consider Joseph P. Farrell one of the most intriguing writers of "alternative" history and science. I have read several of his other works, and while I disagree with some of his ideas, I support some of his main arguments, particulary his idea of an ancient "Cosmic War".
But anyway, the book Genes, Giants, Monsters and Men tells of Farrell's idea that Homo sapiens sapiens was created by some earlier race to serve as serfs. After the "Cosmic War" (which you can learn more of in Farrell's book The Cosmic War), humans were left on their own, though Farrell speculates that some groups of elites survived "both in pockets scattered over the surface of the earth, and possibly in pockets altogether off this planet on other celestial bodies, wherever those might be". Over the millenia, surviving elites have been manipulating the world's economies and religions.
The manner in which Homo sapiens sapiens was created in Farrell's view is quite similar to the ideas of Zechariah Sitchin. I myself am rather skeptical on these interpretations, though I'm more open to Christian and Barbara Joy O'Brien's ideas (which Farrell reports on in this book) of genetically created "Patriarchs" (i.e. the biblical "Patriarchs") who were part human-part Annunaki/Angel/ha elohim. In any case, whether or not one agrees with Farrell's particular conclusions, the fact remains that he has gathered up some quite intriguing evidence showing that the past was not quite as we have been traditionally led to believe.
Of particular interest, in my opinion, where the parts of the book where Farrell reports on the intriguing ideas of a number of researchers. Hear of German engineer Konstantin Meryl's idea that ancient temples were sophisticated radio transmitters. Hear of Christian and Barbara Joy O'Brien's views that the ancient Annunaki/Angels/ha elohim were a race related to us humans, and that Yahweh was an exceptionally violent member of this race who exploited the ancestors of the Israelites. Hear of Brian Sykes' research on mitochondrial DNA and its relevance to understanding the spread of humans over the world long ago.
Farrell is also quite good at providing the opinions and viewpoints he himself has formed from his extensive research.
There are a number of things in the book I disagree with. For instance, Farrell indirectly quotes war historian Richard Gabriel, who claimed that: "Modern warfare has become so lethal and so intense that only the already insane can endure it...". In actual fact, modern warfare is LESS psychologically harsh than the more "primitive" warfare with swords or spears. Reason: while swords and spears may be less damaging than guns and bombs, they however make the fighting closer and more personal, so the combatants will always experience blood and gore up close (with guns you can at least fight at a distance, and in bombing raids one doesn't meet one's victims). Also, I disagree with Farrell's idea that the "Cosmic War" was millions of years ago, and with the methodologies he uses in both this book and others to obtain such extreme dates. I myself feel the "Cosmic War" ended approximately 10 000 BCE and began a few centuries or millenia (but not millions of years) earlier.
Apart from the few criticisms I have with this book though, I overall found it a fascinating read and learned quite a bit of useful information. I'm glad I bought it and would encourage anyone with an interest in "alternative" history and science to read both this book and other books by the fascinating researcher Joseph P. Farrell.

Really good... but read his other books to get the full picture Nov 08, 2011

"aviator"
Thank you Mr. Farrell for your fantastic scholarship, dedication, and clear writing. I got the kindle version of this book, and once I got into it I could barely put it down. In fact, I used Kindle's computer voice to read most of it to me so I could listen while doing a bunch of other things. Then I got his "Giza Death Star, Destroyed and did the same thing. I discovered Mr. Farrell's work through cross referencing with other talented writers such as Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval, John Major Jenkins, John Anthony West, Sitchen, and many others. Mr. Farrell excels at critical analysis of complementary texts and information, using disciplined logic to understand and accurately interpret various language structures, symbols, and oral traditions. To fully benefit from all this great research you really need to read a bunch of books, from him and other people. However, if you can't, you won't go wrong starting with this one since it's recent and benefits from all the previous research he has done. Ancient stories tell us an extraordinary story, vast in scope both in geography and time, culminating in right now, our current chaotic world state. To put it simply; it's very clear now to many that there MUST have been a very advanced civilization long before Egypt, and they left behind an incredibly sophisticated knowledge of what can only be described a kind of cosmic physics, "hyperdimensional", involving matter and consciousness, and understood the link between awareness, and the universe. This knowledge is so vast, that it's embedded in a large array of textual, architectural, artistic, and linguistic systems from around the globe that go back 10's of thousands of years, at least. Clearly, long ago some people knew how to tap into amazing states of awareness and vision, and create massive structures all around the world using that precise knowledge. And these ancient people clearly knew a lot about math, astronomy, our solar system and beyond... they even knew profound psychological principles and were keenly aware of the importance of genetics, breeding, etc. These very ancient myths that we have inherited from Egypt, India ( far east ), Australia, Sumeria, and the Americas were very old even at the time ( at least up to 4,000 BCE ) of those civilizations, and were passed down for millennia, often by oral tradition and complex writing systems such as hieroglyphs. Much information was totally lost, some has been rediscovered. But, no wonder they seem bizarre for us. Fortunately for all of us, along come people like Mr. Farrell and modern technology, access to records, translations, and world travel, and the picture is getting very clear, at least to me. Our ancient history is truly incredible and we know so very little about it. It's breathtaking to get even a glimpse, and this series of books is really eye-popping. Let's just say, whatever you think about ancient history and religion, put it on the table for a minute, take a deep breath, and listen. Your head will spin around a few times each way, then you'll want to buy another one of these books. and don't forget the other authors as well. If you find my reviews useful, it's nice to know.

Genes, Giants, Monsters and Men Dec 05, 2011
By Dr. Ronald Cutburth Joseph Farrell is really a scientist with outstanding skills in research and analysis. His Books have the quality of a doctoral dissertation. This text should be required reading by all doctoral students as he provides the example of how to conduct an extremely broad search to present the topics of consideration. His text, "Genes, Giant's Monsters and Men" should be a fundamental reading for all of society for the revelations of today.
