Good, but needs adjustment if Radeon 4350 graphics Feb 14, 2010
By mazdaboy2 (Windows 7 64-bit Dell desktop machine with ATI Radeon 4350 graphics) From the beginning (about a week ago), I generally liked this monitor, except that text (e.g. in browser) seemed smeared, esp. in the horizontal direction; effect was subtle but noticeable. Explored the monitor's manual (on included CD which I otherwise didn't use) and found out about the on-screen display buttons, which are almost invisible on the side near the power button. At the bottom of the resulting OSD menu, noticed that the monitor reported current input as 1440x900, with the maximum and recommended as 1600x900. Went to Windows display settings, and learned that the Radeon reported current resolution as 1600x900. WTF? That was the maximum resolution offered. The next one was 1360x768 - I tried that briefly, but the larger text still seemingly had the same problem. Then I moved it back to the max 1600x900 and clicked OK - voila, that was the fix. Text is no longer smeared, and the monitor's OSD menu reports 1600x900 resolution. Guessing this is an ATI problem, maybe driver needs update ?
