5Reliable Computing Machine  Apr 15, 2010 By techgkrp
I bought this setup over 2 years ago, almost 3 now with the 24" Monitor. It came loaded with Windows Vista and I immediately replaced it with XP. I am an engineer and use it for computational simulation and it has been great. Biggest complaint is that it runs a little loud - it seems like the fan is always on. It is also a little tippy if you do not have it on a hard surface. I have never had a problem with it freezing or its ability to handle multiple running applications. I think most of the complaints about this machine are OS related and not hardware configuration. I would recommend this computer or any other Dell product to anyone. I have had several Dell machines and they have always been very reliable.

5Very good computer  Jul 31, 2010 By Devin L. Chambers
I have owned 2 other brands of computers in my lifetime besides Dell (Toshiba and HP) and Dells are by far the best PC's out there in my opinion. A lot of you are forgetting one thing in your reviews.. This computer comes with Vista - the crappiest OS ever made.. well, besides Millennium. When we bought it, we immediately ordered a Windows XP CD and it ran completely fine and always has! We just now upgraded to Windows 7 and it runs BEAUTIFULLY! Better than XP!

I suggest to you all to get rid of Vista. No computer runs GREAT with Vista.. it's almost impossible to find one that will.

1Terrible - never again!  Jul 22, 2011 By Kristen Noble
I bought this computer about 2 years ago from Dell directly with lots of upgrades not knowing any better. It has never run right. Crashed consistently, sounded like a freight train, and finally just stopped turning on a few weeks ago. Support was a joke - took it to a local repair place who told me the processor was completely fried, along with my video card. The computer is basically impossible to upgrade, so I am paying over $200 to fix it while I shop around to build my own. I will not buy a Dell again.

5slim computer, good price  Nov 14, 2011 By David Stepkovitch "David S"
I didn't buy this from amazon but Inever had aproblem with it, except the fan is loud at start up, no big deal. Never crashed.

1A year later...  Aug 02, 2010 By M. Combes "A Reviewer"
Compared to all of my HP Pavilion's, which have never given me a single problem, this Dell I bought has already died on me. I hardly ever used it. Now it won't boot, or it will start booting but then shut off unexpectedly. Wow, what a piece of junk. I have given away all my HP Pavilions that have lasted 8-plus years without a glitch, and yet this piece of flimsy junk already croaked. This is is my first Dell, and my very, very last. Three Pavilions, used and abused, and I have never had ONE single problem with them. From now on, it's HP all the way.
