Excellent quality but has a design flaw Jan 06, 2011

Cons:
* It does not cool well
The problem is that it snugly holds the hard drive in the bay with foam padding to reduce noise,
vibration and the chance for shorts. It appears the foam padding, however, insulates the drive from
the heat sink!
I performed the following test:
* hard drive in open air (laying on desk) running for 24h, 65F room temp: hard drive
reports its temp as 71F
* same hard drive in the CL-VEN-525HD case, running for 24h, 65F room temp: hard drive
reports its temp as 74F
So it appears to have made the hard drive hotter.
It is unfortunate because it is an excellent quality hard drive cage; if it cooled the drive
even marginally I would have given it five-stars.
Nonetheless if you want to invest a little time I bet that it can be
transformed into a good cooler using thermal grease and copper shims
between the drive and the case.
